Lesbian Relationships?
Okay so we are both bisexual and this whole thing is new to me. We havent made ourselves official because we are still going through the "Get To Know You" stage. I was just wondering is it tough for lesbian relationships and what are some typical problems that occur? Im kind of nervous getting into one because like I said above this is a new experience for me.
it's not very different from other relationships. girls can be more dramatic and have a lot more feelings, but that's about it. every relationship has different problems. just have fun, and if it doesn't work out, move on.(:
Lesbian relationships?
do you find it easy to stay with one person forever when being in a lesbian or gay relationship?
why do most male on male relationships never last as long as a girl on girl???
no
Lesbian relationships?
Right, I know stereotypes are bad, but they're also generally true. I just want to know what is generally true so don't give me all "lesbians just like lesbians" or whatever. Right?

Basically, how do lesbian relationships (preferably ones you know) work? Like, is there usually a distinct masculine partner and a feminine one? That's the general social perception. But I just like women, whether they have short hair and wear men's clothing or wear lots of makeup and giggle like a guy. But will they like me just as much?

Also, I'm meeting up with an old friend who just came out. She is the "fat dyke" stereotype. Do I have a chance there?
In my relationship (Yes I'm a lesbian) there's no specific masculine or feminine partner. We are both pretty girly and we share everything we do. For us personally, I don't think the stereotypes apply. I do have a few lesbian friends who are the typical stereotypes, but I don't think that applies to everybody. Everyone's different.

It's good that you're open to anything - I.e not looking for a specific type of lesbian lol. Why wouldn't you have a chance with your old friend? If you're looking for something to happen, just go for it. And I hope all works out well :-)
Are there any good shows or movies about lesbian relationships?
I'm a lesbian and I would like to watch a show or movie about a lesbian relationship. I'm tired of always seeing boy and girl relationships all the time. I can't relate to it. Are there any good shows or movies about lesbian relationships that are not just about sex?
Oh lord *pulls out giant list*

• The Incredibley True Adventures of Two Girls In Love
• I Can't Think Straight
• Imagine Me and You
• When Night Is Falling
• Better Than Chocolate
• Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit (british tv mini-series)
• Exes and Ohs (tv series)
• The L Word (tv series)
Do some lesbian relationships have a domme and sub dimension?
Ive started my first ever lesbian relationship with an older woman. Im 25 and she is 39. Im very submissive while she is dominant. This makes sense as she is fit and athletic and I am very petite. She always assumes the mans role in bed and often uses a strap - on and we both love this arrangement. As this is my first lesbian relationship, I am wondering how common these sorts of domme - sub relationships actually are amongst women?
Everyone's relationship is different, in bed and out of it. As long as it works for you, that's fab. We tend to be more neutral. Though I do like to wear suits out and about and have been mistaken for a guy. I'm taller and bigger than she is. In bed we're pretty equal. No strap on, we're not so into that area of sexuality, but I love going down on her and she tends to be more creative with her hands. ^,~

Why in many Lesbian relationships does one partner dress like a man and the other a woman?
I'm not sure if this is a rule, so please enlighten me by why, in many lesbian relationships, is there a feminine looking one and one that looks like a man? If they don't want a biological man then why go for a woman that looks/dresses like a man ?? Can any lesbians on here shed light on this at all? Is it fair to say there really are two types of lesbian?
a butch and a femme seem to be the most common gay relationship pair but then again, it's also the most obvious and easily identified as being a gay couple. There are plenty of femme/femme and butch/butch relationships out there. I'm rather femme myself and really cant picture myself dating a butch.
And yes, there are many types or camps of gay people (because apparently, we're not stereotyped enough)
Why are there more lesbian butch-femme relationships than there are gay men?
A lot of lesbian relationships have one butch and the other femme, but not so much with gay men.
you gotta be guyding me must be a small gay community i see a mix among both how about lipstick lesbians they're usually fem fem then theres the drag queens who date masculine men come onget in a real gay community
What are lesbian relationships usually like?
I'm a closeted lesbian, and have never been in a relationship with another girl. I was wondering what they're like, as opposed to straight couples? What differs and what stays the same?
Just like straight relationships, there are different types of relationships.

Unlike straight relationships, there seems to be more emotional intensity (because women tend to be more emotional) and understanding, at least (regarding understanding) with respect to your both being women. There's not quite the same adversarial male/female dynamics, not to say there isn't in some relationships mimicking male/female roles. I'm just saying you don't necessarily have someone there thinking they shouldn't listen to anything you say because you're a woman and such, and you both are more likely to want the same kind of things out of a relationship emotionally-speaking.

Are lesbian relationships more dangerous for women than heterosexual relationships?
It the documentary on lesbian rape called 'She Stole My Voice', it says that 30% of lesbians will be raped by another woman. Do you believe it to be true? If so, why are feminists allowing this to remain a silent crime? Can you imagine the uproar if 30% of heterosexual women were raped?
It is said that roughly 1 in 4 women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime. This could be assaults from women but more likely from men.

Read the statistics from the links below.

Men rape women, other men and guyren.
Women rape other women, occasionally men and guyren.
You do NOT have to be a man to be a rapist and you do not have to be a woman to get raped.
